Flight Planner Upgrades
The new flight planner does a few things right and those specific things are upgrades from the last flight planner for sure. However, overall I find it to be a downgrade. Two things need to be addressed immediately for the flight planner to be something we use on an ongoing basis.
1. The flight lines that are generated should be automatically generated within the KML you upload to the program. Having to draw out your polygon after uploading the KML file is redundant and a waste of time as well as not very accurate. This should be fixed as soon as possible.
2. When exporting the KML flight plans for Spatial Explorer (Mission Guidance), no report is exported with the flight plans. You have to manually record all of the flight parameters or screen grab the items you want to keep. The report should be exported with the lines to show all of the flight characteristics and Lidar/Orthophoto details when opening the flight plans in google earth for later inspection.
If these items are already available, instructions on how to work through these items would be appreciated.
